The average temperature for Tampa this time of year is 90 degrees and we will be very close to that today. Temperatures will vary though according to where you are thanks to a westerly wind. The beaches will only top out in the upper 80s as a result, but areas in Polk, Hardee and DeSoto counties will top out in the low to mid 90s. Rain chances are very slim, but I included a 10% chance for areas well east of I75.
The extended forecast will finally bring back a chance for those afternoon showers and storms. Winds remain westerly through the 4th of July holiday, but turn SE Thursday through the weekend. That brings about an increase in rain chances from 20-30% through Wednesday, to 30-40% through the weekend.
Today: Partly cloudy skies with only an isolated shower for inland locations mainly after 3 p.m. Winds will blow W 10 mph with a high of 91, slightly warmer inland.
Tonight: Partly cloudy skies with lows 72-78, the warmest readings at the beach. Winds will be light from the east.
