Clearwater Beach, Florida -- A teenager jumped from Pier 60 Tuesday morning but landed in shallow water and was not seriously injured, police said.
The 19-year-old, who was not identified, told the marine unit that rescued him that he was depressed. He appeared to be under the influence, according to public safety spokesperson Elizabeth Watts.
The incident happened around 5:30 a.m.
He was taken to a local hospital with "no significant injuries," Watts said.
