Tampa, Florida-- Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested a King High School teacher today for having a sexual affair with an underage, female student.
32-year old Jeffrey Halle, Jr. of Plant City supervised an after school program at King, when deputies say he began the affair with a 17-year-old girl enrolled in the program.
The affair lasted close to four months, until the girl's father confronted Halle.
According to officials, it was on or around March 17 when Halle and the female student allegedly engaged in sexual activities in a vacant classroom at the school.
Reports say over the four-month period, Halle and the girl made arrangements during regular school hours to meet in the vacant classroom after school.
Then, on July 10, officials say Halle text messaged the girl to arrange to meet at her home and have sex.
Upon arrival, the girl's father confronted Halle, and he left their home.
The parents then notified HCSO, prompting an investigation.
Deputies say detectives arrested Halle late this afternoon at the Criminal Investigation Division on the following charges:
- Sexual Battery-Familiar
- Traveling to Meet a Minor
- Certain use Computer Service/Devices Prohibited
