Tampa, Florida -- Even though Tampa Police say they have no information on any impending threats to local movie theaters, they say the department will be increasing patrols throughout the city for cautionary reasons.

Traditionally, the city has off duty officers in the evening hours at Tampa movie theaters. However, since the Colorado tragedy, Tampa Police say some theaters have contacted the department to hire daytime off duty officers as well.

The department conducts active shooter training for shopping malls, large employees, schools and other facilities. It will soon be offered at Tampa movie theaters.
