Palmetto, Florida -- A Manatee County man convicted of first degree attempted murder was sentenced to life in prison Tuesday.
The Manatee Sheriff's Office says 19-year-old Chrisshawn Arrington, allegedly along with 18-year-old Carmon Mosley, approached Marquis Dorsey's car back in June 2011 while he waited at the 4th Avenue and 25th Street East intersection and asked him for a ride. They then shot Dorsey several times and fled.
Mosley was arrested on Aug. 8, 2011, but was acquitted after the courts determined Dorsey could not positively identify him as one of the shooters.
Arrington turned himself in on Aug. 24, 2011 and was found guilty on June 13, 2012.
