Inverness, Florida -- A woman is suing the Citrus County Sheriff's Office, claiming she was strip searched in front of her children along the side of the road.
The lawsuit filed August 3rd by Leila Tarantino claims she was pulled over in Beverly Hills back in July of 2011. Her 1 and 4-year-old children were in the car with her at the time.

Tarantino says a deputy approached her car and then without warning drew his gun, ordered her out, and had her handcuffed. When Tarantino asked why she was pulled over, the deputy allegedly gave no response.
The lawsuit goes on to say Tarantino was placed in the back of a patrol car for two hours while her children were left in her own car.
Five more deputies eventually arrived on scene, and that's when Tarantino says she was strip searched twice alongside the road, in view of passing motorists. During one strip search, the lawsuit alleges a female deputy forcibly removed Tarantino's tampon.
No drugs or other illegal contraband were found during the search, and Tarantino says no drug-sniffing dog was ever used.
Tarantino says she was eventually released, with only a citation for violating restrictions on her driver's license.
The lawsuit names Citrus Sheriff Jeff Dawsey and the deputies involved as defendants. The six deputies -- five men and one woman -- are listed as John and Jane Does.
In the lawsuit, Tarantino seeks monetary damages to be determined in a trial by jury and payment of her attorney's fees.
