BARTOW, Florida -- A Bartow man is under arrest after police say they found pipe bombs, drugs, and equipment used to make methamphetamine in a home on East Vine Street.
According to the Bartow Police Department, 30-year-old Robert Cannaday was turned in by his mother, who told authorities she suspected her son was manufacturing methamphetamine in their home.
When officers arrived at the home, they reportedly located a suspicious device that appeared to be a pipe bomb. The area was evacuated and the state fire marshall's bomb squad was called in.
The bomb squad found and removed three of the explosive devices from the home. They also reportedly found chemicals used to make meth, along with one gram of finished meth.
Cannaday is charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of listed chemicals, possession of methamphetamine, maintaining a dwelling for drug manufacture, possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia, and making a destructive device (2 counts).
