Hernando County, Florida -- After making over 25 fraudulent purchases with a patient's credit card, it was one purchase that helped detectives capture this nurse.
The elderly woman contacted police after she noticed 27 fraudulent purchases were made on her credit card at various locations throughout Manatee and Hillsborough counties.
Hernando County detectives checked surveillance videos at the questionable locations and noticed the same man buying things with her card in all instances. It was a good start but when he used the card to pay his Bright House Networks account they knew they had their man.
When detectives arrived at Titus Houston's Spring Hill home and showed him pictures of himself using the card, they say he admitted to making the purchases. Houston told them he was the 88-year-old woman's Home Health Care nurse and that he knew her judgement was impaired but would not divulge how he got the card.
