Tampa, Florida -- Former Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain spent Wednesday afternoon in Tampa as part of his "Truth Tour."

Cain talked to employers about policy issues and candidate positions.

10 News caught up with Cain and asked what he thought about Governor Mitt Romney's remarks that the 47 percent of Americans who pay no income tax would vote for the current president.

"He's telling the truth!" Cain exclaimed. "It's not a story when you tell the truth. It's only a story when someone tries to spin it in some sort of negative way. "

Cain went on to say, "Now, he may be a little bit off technically, because maybe it's not all 47 percent that are going to vote for President Obama because they're not paying any taxes. Maybe it's because they're not paying any taxes or it could be they're on some sort of government-assisted program. And some people are probably included in that number that will vote for President Obama because he's black... which is also not the right reason to vote for somebody."

At a private fundraiser in May, Romney told a group of wealthy donors that almost half of all Americans "believe they are victims" entitled to extensive government support. He added that as a candidate for the White House, "my job is not to worry about those people."

Secretly-recorded video of Romney's remarks were posted online by the magazine Mother Jones.

On Monday night, Romney held a press conference where he said his comments were not "elegantly stated" but reflect his view that President Obama and his supporters believe in a "government-centered" society.

Cain told 10 News he was overall satisfied with the direction the Romney/Ryan ticket is headed, but, "I would like to see it more aggressive, and I think that's gonna come."

On Thursday, both President Obama and Governor Romney will make stops in the Tampa Bay area.
