Tarpon Springs, Florida -- Two people were rescued from a 65-foot boat taking
on water 40 miles west of Tarpon Springs, Friday.
Officials say a person aboard the Joint Venture boat contacted the Coast Guard around 10:20 a.m. saying he was taking on water and needed help.
A boat and helicopter crew were dispatched and were able to get the water out of the boat using a pump so they could be escorted back to shore.
No injuries were reported and both people aboard were wearing their life jackets.
