Palm Harbor, Florida -- Larry Packard, the man who designed the Copperhead course at Innisbrook, celebrated his 100th birthday Thursday.
His friends at Innisbrook threw him a big birthday party, at the Innisbrook restaurant that bears his name.
In his golf career, Larry has either designed or re-designed over 600 courses around the world.
He did all four courses at Innisbrook, beginning in 1970. At that time, a lot of the 1,000 acres at Innisbrook was swamp, so he had to design golf courses around swampland.
Also, instead of the usual two tees per hole, Packard more than doubled it to make the golf courses playable for everyone.
"I got five tees," he told 10 News. "So, if you're not a very good player, you tee off from the front tees."
Larry and his wife, Ann, have lived at Innisbrook for over 40 years.
Last year, PGA Tour players voted the Copperhead course as their favorite course on the Tour in Florida and the ninth best course on the entire Tour.
