Gainesville, FL-- Armwood's season ended in Gainesville Friday night, as the Hawks lost to the top-ranked and undefeated Gainesville HS Hurricanes, 42-10, in the Class 6A region final.
The same two teams met in the region final last year, when the Hawks pulled out a 17-14 win, and Gainesville was waiting a year for this game and a chance for payback.
Hurricanes' RB Raphael Webb rushed for 214 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Armwood was held to just 161 yards of total offense. They jumped out to a 3-0 lead, but Gainesville scored the next 35 points. The Hawks finished the season 9-4, after being stripped of their Class 6A state championship last season.
