Sarasota, Florida -- A Sarasota man was killed in a DUI crash involving another driver who was under the influence early Friday morning.
Florida Highway Patrol troopers say around 12:50 early Friday morning Siosaia Fonua was heading north on US 301 in the middle lane when he got to the intersection at 47th Street. At the same time, Scott Parker was heading west on 47th Street.
Fonua's car T-boned the driver's side of Parker's Mustang. Fonua fled the scene on foot and was later caught by police. Parker, 55, died at the scene.
Fonua, 29, of Bradenton, has been charged with DUI manslaughter, driving on a suspended license - death, and leaving the scene of a crash involving a death.
