Brooksville, FL-- A man is behind bars in Hernando County after he purposely sped toward, and crashed his car into a deputy's cruiser late Friday night.
According to reports, deputies had Jason Gatto on their radar because of an initial call about a domestic dispute off Weeping Willow St. in Brooksville.
Gatto, who was believed to be under the influence of drugs, fled the scene before deputies arrived.
Deputy Cody Silagyi found him at the intersection of Weeping Willow St. and Taylor St., and that's when officials say Gatto rammed into Deputy Silagyi's marked cruiser at over 60 mph.

And Gatto didn't stop there. He got out of the car and aggressively approached the deputy, giving him no choice other than to use his taser on him.
Gatto was arrested, and charged with Aggravated Battery with the Intent to Cause Bodily Harm and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. His bond was set at $35,000.
Deputy Silagyi was transported by Hernando County Fire Rescue to a local hospital where he was treated for injuries sustained in the crash. He is expected to make a full recovery.
