A home in Bartow, Florida took over two hours for the Polk County Fire Rescue to put out due to excessive personal items

Bartow, Florida -- A home on fire took the Polk County Fire Rescue more than two hours to get under control. At around 2 a.m. Wednesday February 27, 2013 fire rescue received a call of a single story residential structure fire in Lake Wales. When units arrived they found a fully engulfed wood frame house.

One deceased person was found inside the structure. Polk County Sheriff's Office Detectives are on-scene conducting a death investigation.

It took three engines, five tenders and a battalion chief almost two hours to bring the fire under control due to excessive personal belongings inside the home.
