New Port Richey, Florida -- On Monday, Florida Fish and Wildlife officials say they received a call about five adult Button Buck carcasses found in the New Port Richey area.
FWC says the meat was taken off the hind ends and the carcasses dumped. Officials say they believe this is a case of a person, or persons, hunting out of season.
The resident, who alerted officials to the carcasses, said the they were dumped by the side of the road on Baker Street near Rowen Road and that her grandchildren saw the deer's remains. However, FWC has not revealed where exactly the carcasses are located.
They are asking anyone with any information on these incidents to call the Wildlife Alert Line at 1-888-404-FWCC.
