Hillsborough County, Florida-- UPDATE: The 40 acre brush fire off 40 River Ranch Rd. has been controlled and extinguished. 

A Hillsborough County Fire Rescue report sent shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday said a total of eight Hillsborough Fire Rescue units and members of the Florida Forestry Service took part in putting out the flames.

The report also said the "accidental" fire did not damage any structures, or harm anyone near the scene.

Fire Rescue crews say they are currently at the scene of a brush fire that may have spread over 40 acres near 40 Ranch Rd.

Preliminary reports do not have much information, but officials say there are multiple HCFR units on scene, and that The Florida Forestry Service has been requested.
