Valrico, Florida -- Hillsborough County deputies have reopened the Valrico intersection that was the site of a serious crash late Tuesday morning.

Authorities say around 10:15 a.m., a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire heading south on St. Cloud Avenue failed to stop for the stop sign at Lumsden Road and hit the passenger side of a 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipse.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, 21-year-old Kelly Fort, was flown to Tampa General Hospital where he remains in critical condition. The driver of the Pontiac, 75-year-old Kathryn Means, was taken to South Florida Baptist Hospital in Plant City in stable condition.

Police have not charged either party at this time and they say alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
