Dunedin, Florida -- Early Wednesday morning, two 16-year-old girls were extricated from a car and airlifted to the hospital after they were involved in a crash with a van.

According to Pinellas Sheriff's investigators, Robert Wagner was heading west in the curbside lane of Curlew Road approaching Fisher Road. At the same time, Anna Savchuk and her passenger Kayla Brock were heading south on Fisher, crossing Curlew Road, when it appeared their Hyundai violated Wagner's right of way and his van hit the driver's side of their car.

Both Savchuk and Brock, of Palm Harbor, were extricated from the vehicle and airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Wagner, 46, of Palm Harbor, was not injured in the crash.

Deputies say neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor in the crash.

The investigation continues.
