Tampa, Florida - About 1,500 University of South Florida System students had their degrees conferred during a pair of commencement ceremonies on Saturday.
It was USF's 100th commencement convocation. The first ceremonies were held in December 1963.
The 9 a.m. ceremony recognized USF Tampa graduates from the Colleges of Arts and Sciences and Business, as well as all colleges at USF St. Petersburg.
Graduates from USF Tampa's Colleges of Behavioral and Community Sciences, Education, Engineering, Global Sustainability, Marine Science, Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, The Arts, and Undergraduate Studies were all recognized, as well as graduates from all colleges at USF Sarasota-Manatee.
USF students earned a total of 2,840 degrees with many double majoring.
1,863 bachelor's, 811 master's, and 166 doctoral and specialist degrees were conferred.
