Plant City, Florida -- A former music teacher at King High School agreed to a plea deal Monday after his arrest back in July on charges of familiar sexual battery, traveling to meet a minor for sex and using a computer device to solicit sex.
Jeffrey Halle, Jr. was arrested back in July for allegedly having a sexual affair with an underage female student who was enrolled in an after school program he supervised.
Reports say over a four-month period, Halle and the girl made arrangements during regular school hours to meet in the vacant classroom after school.
Then, on July 10, officials say Halle text messaged the girl to arrange to meet at her home and have sex. Instead, he was confronted by the girl's father.
When Halle was arrested, he was charged with familiar sexual battery, traveling to meet a minor for sex and using a computer device to solicit sex, however as part of the plea agreement, Halle was sentenced to 60 months probation for child abuse.
