St. Petersburg, Florida -- The driver of a Pinellas County school bus was cited in a crash Monday afternoon that injured the driver of the car and three students who on board at the time.
St. Pete Police investigators say the bus was heading south on 7th Street from University Prep Academy when the driver failed to yield to a Pontiac Sunfire heading west on 62nd Avenue South.
The Pontiac hit the side of the bus and the female driver had to be extricated from by fire rescue workers. She was taken to hospital for evaluation but did not appear to suffer from serious injuries.

Three of the 13 students on the bus complained of minor injuries and were checked out by fire rescue and picked up by their parents.
The driver of the bus, who has not yet been identified, was cited for failing to yield to a stop sign.
