Firefighters around the bay area will take a moment of silence today to remember their colleagues who died on September 11th.
There are also several memorial events that you're invited to attend.
In Hillsborough County:
Tampa Fire Rescue is holding a remembrance ceremony at the Tampa Firefighters Museum.
The ceremony starts at exactly 9:55a.m., so they're asking everyone to be there no later than 9:30a.m.
In Pinellas County:
The Palm Harbor Fire Department is hosting a memorial event at Curlew Hills Memory Gardens, this morning at 10a.m.
Our own Reginald Roundtree will be the master of ceremonies.
A 150-pound piece of rusted steel beam, once linked to the World Trade Center Towers, will be the focal point.
In Pasco and Hernando Counties:
VFW post 10-209 is hosting a memorial service this morning at 9:30a.m. in Spring Hill.
Then tonight at 6:30p.m. the city of New Port Richey will hold a ceremony at Sims Park.
Police, Sheriff's Deputies, and Fire fighters in Sarasota are coming together for a ceremony this morning at 8:30a.m.
In Polk County:
50 white doves will be released outside the sheriff's operation center to honor the first responders who lost their lives 12 years ago today.
