Riverview, Florida -- A driver lost control of a tractor trailer which crashed and caused $10,000 in damage to part of I-75.
According to reports, on September 25 Cecil Hutchins was driving a semi tractor trailer on I-75 on Little Manatee River Bridge. He was driving in the rain and lost control of the vehicle. The tractor trailer made a sharp turn, crashed into the concrete barrier wall and came to a stop with the cab partially over the side of the bridge.
After impact, the engine caught fire and caused extensive damage to the tractor cab and $10,000 in damage to the bridge.
The interstate was closed northbound for two hours until crews could remove the vehicle which also spilled approximately 40 gallons of fuel from the tank.
The driver sustained minor injuries
