Tampa, Florida -- An ongoing neighborhood argument turned deadly Saturday; two people were killed and the suspect was also shot in the face, but is in custody.
It happened near the University of South Florida campus in Tampa at the corner of East 110th Avenue and North 23rd Street on Saturday night around 8:00 p.m.
Police say Juan Molina shot and killed Erica White in the street and then shot through a house in front of her, killing Percy Badsen. Then Molina tried climbing through a window. That's when Badsen's adult stepson shot Molina in the face.
"He didn't get away unscathed," said Tamp Police Lt. Ron McMullen He brought this on himself. We go from a dispute to a double homicide. Where does it end? It could have easily been a triple homicide!"
All three people involved live within a few houses of each other. Both Molina and Badsen have a history of arrests, including burglary and domestic violence. Erica White has no prior arrests.
Police say they have had several calls to that neighborhood just this year.
Molina will face second degree murder and two counts aggravated assault.
Neighbors tell 10 News they are relieved this was not a random shooting.
