Investigators say the truck, from Jay-C Trucking out of Orlando, was hauling limestone when it crashed around 12:48 p.m. The impact of the truck crashing into the tree is what troopers say caused it to flip onto its side.
The 43-year-old driver, whose identity has not yet been released, died at the scene.
Portions of southbound I-75 were closed intermittently throughout the afternoon while crews worked to remove the vehicle and its load.
