Clearwater Beach, Florida - Public parking will get tighter on the south beach Monday when the city permanently closes 165 waterfront parking spaces on the site of the former Adam's Mark Hotel, for construction of a new hotel development there.

Parking Lot # 32, as it is known, expanded onto the footpath of the old Adam's Mark Hotel in 2008, when the hotel was demolished by an implosion viewed by beach residents and visitors. Now, it's time to convert the property for the new development.
"Beach visitors can park in the parking garages at the Hyatt Regency and at Surf Style, located at 301 and 311 S. Gulfview Blvd., respectively," The city stated.
In recent weeks, the city has also added metered on-street parking in areas where parking had been banned. The new parking spaces are on Hamden Drive, Coronado Drive, and Fifth Street, just blocks from the new hotel project.
