Tampa, Florida -- Three suspects have been arrested in the robbery where the victim was shot and ran to a nearby steakhouse for help, where he later collapsed.
Authorities say the unidentified man was at the Howard Johnson Hotel on N. Dale Mabry Highway when two men reportedly confronted him at the hotel armed with a pistol and robbed him.
Tampa Police officers say a struggle ensued and the man was shot in the wrist. He also suffered an injury to his face, but police don't yet know how that injury occurred.
The man reportedly ran from the hotel to a nearby LongHorn Steakhouse, where he collapsed.
Police conducted an extensive search of the area and located a car matching the description of the suspect's vehicle. Inside the vehicle, they found 19-year-old Chance Estrada and, at a home nearby, they found 23-year-old Chad Barnett who was trying to hide loaded handgun that was stolen from the victim.
Both were taken into custody and transported to the Hillsborough County Jail.
A third suspect, 64-year-old James Stewart, was found at St. Joseph's Hospital where he claimed he was shot during an unrelated shooting.
The victim is still being treated at a local hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
