TAMPA, Florida (AP) - The co-founder of Outback Steakhouse is donating $5 million to Tampa's Moffitt Cancer Center.
The donation by Chris Sullivan was announced Monday by hospital officials.
The money will be support the hospital's Donald A. Adam Comprehensive Melanoma Research Center of Excellence.
During a private reception hosted by Moffitt on Nov. 19, officials also announced they'll name the atrium of Moffitt's new McKinley campus outpatient facility the Chris Sullivan Family Atrium.
Sullivan is now a partner at MVP Holdings, which is behind the Lee Roy Selmon's restaurant chain. A spokeswoman for the company said Sullivan was traveling and couldn't be reached. She deferred all comments to the hospital.
