Tampa Bay, Florida-- Severe Thunderstorms swept the Tampa Bay area Wednesday afternoon, resulting in several severe thunderstorm warnings, and a tornado warning for three counties.
Though the storm was relatively short-lived, it left its mark in multiple Bay area communities.

According to the National Weather Service, a lightning strike set fire to an apartment complex near White Swan Drive and Twin Lakes Boulevard in Carrollwood, causing damage to eight units.
As Tampa Fire Rescue crews tackled the fire, others were called to Busch Gardens to save 16 park patrons stuck on board the Cheetah Hunt roller coaster, 30 feet in the air.

Meanwhile in Polk County, residents were reporting issues of their own. Strong winds damaged roofs in Bartow, and even swept them off homes in Haines City and Fort Meade.
In Pasco County, a portion of wooden fence blew into the intersection at De Cubellis and Ridge Road in New Port Richey, and a tree fell onto a Brooksville home in Hernando.
