Building evacuated after small fire in Tampa

Tampa, Florida -- Firefighters and a good sprinkler system prevented a fire from spreading in buildings at Woodland Center in Tampa. Hillsborough County Fire Rescue responded to a report of a structure fire.

The building was located at 8020 Woodland Center Blvd in Tampa. Multiple units arrived on scene to find heavy smoke coming from the back of the building. The fire alarm alerted the employees and the sprinkler system helped to keep the fire from spreading to the office. The employees had evacuated prior to HCFR's arrival.

Once on scene, the crews were able to contain and extinguish the fire. There were no injuries to civilians or personnel. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
