Car plows into building in Clearwater

Clearwater, Florida -- A woman is in the hospital after she drove her car into a building in Clearwater Thursday morning.

Clearwater Police say the 51-year-old woman was driving northbound on Missouri Avenue when she apparently had some type of medical issue. Her vehicle crossed the median into southbound traffic, and then hit the commercial building next to Scott Paint.

The woman was taken to Morton Plant Hospital, where her condition is not known.

Officials say damage to the building was minor, and that traffic on southbound Missouri was shut down for a short time.
