Children learn about law enforcement by going to work

Pinellas County, Florida — A hundred children visited the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office as part of Tampa Bay's "Take your Daughters and Sons to Work" day on Thursday.

Boys and girls ages 8 to 14 spent the day learning more about what mom and dad do on the job in the world of law enforcement.

The day started off with some K-9 training. Badger the K-9 officer showed off his talents by obeying commands and performing tasks he does in the line of duty.

The group will get a tour of the jail, the courthouse and a then visit an airport hangar to get a look at some of the helicopters, airplanes and special operations vehicles used by the force.
