Cockatoo, electronics stolen in Dover burglary

Dover, Florida -- A Moluccan cockatoo was among other items -- a trolling motor, microwave, laptop, DVD players and two bird cages -- were taken from a residence in Dover, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.

The homeowner returned to his residence at 14880 Haynes Road at about midnight Sept. 28 and saw that the home had been burglarized and that the items were missing, the sheriff's office said.

Anyone with any information in the the case or the whereabouts of the cockatoo is asked to call the sheriff's office at 247-8200. Or, to be eligible for a cash reward, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS (8477), report the tip anonymously online or text "CSTB plus your tip" to C-R-I-M-E-S (274637).
