Clearwater, FL -- An Indiana man was arrested Thursday after TSA agents recovered a gun from his carry-on bag.
According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, 57-year-old Michael Shelton, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, was going through a security checkpoint at St. Pete/Clearwater Airport when TSA agents found a gun in his carry-on bag.
Deputies responded and found a Smith and Wesson 9m handgun.
Shelton was to board Allegiant Flight 890 back to Fort Wayne after a visit to Florida. Deputies say Shelton was extremely cooperative and apologetic and told them he had forgotten the gun was in his bag.
Shelton was arrested for carrying a concealed firearm and was taken to the Pinellas County Jail without incident.
