CAPE CORAL, Florida (WINK)- A 17-year-old Cape Coral boy was arrested and transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center after shooting his mother with a crossbow during an argument Sunday night.
The crossbow arrow did not have a tip, so the woman was bruised, but not critically injured. The boy also shoved her into a wall, causing a noticeable bump on her head. Officers wanted to photograph the woman's injuries, but she was very intoxicated and uncooperative.
When the woman's boyfriend told the 17-year-old to leave, the boy threatened to kill him. Later, the boy began punching the man until friends held him back.
Officers also found damage to the bathroom wall and medicine cabinet.
The boy was charged with aggravated assault domestic violence, battery domestic violence, misdemeanor battery and criminal mischief.
