Pensacola, Florida (PNJ) -- A caregiver for the elderly was arrested Monday afternoon on allegations that she sexually assaulted a 106-year-old female patient last month.
Taquita Watson, 29, has worked with elderly patients for more than eight years, according to Pensacola police. She attended to the 106-year-old patient, who is mostly bedridden, for the past three months at the patient's home.
According to the arrest report, after the abuse, Watson told the victim "if you tell anyone, I will hurt you." Nevertheless, the victim told someone what happened on Thursday, when she realized she would be left with Watson on Friday night.
The arrest report lists Watson's current employer as Interim HealthCare on Creighton Road.
An Interim HealthCare employee who answered the phone Monday night referred a reporter to the business' corporate office.
Watson, of the 8700 block of Doris Avenue, is charged with sexual assault and was released from Escambia County Jail after posting a $25,000 bond.
Pensacola detectives are still working to determine whether Watson abused any other elderly patients, police said.
