Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office detectives are investigating a suspicious death at 66th Street in Clair Mel.
Around 5:22 a.m. on April 27, a neighbor called the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office stating that someone was banging on the door yelling for police.
The man at the door was Ivan Echevarria and covered in blood that directed them to the body of Luis Rojas within the carport of the residence located at 1923 S. 66th St.
Reportedly, the Rojas, Echevarria and a witness were at Rojas' home drinking on Friday night, April 26.
Around 1:30 a.m. Echevarria and Rojas got into a verbal argument that turned physical. When Echevarria woke up and saw that Rojas was dead, he ran to a neighbor's house yelling for help. Echevarria has been cooperating with detectives and was taken into custody without incident.
Preliminary findings show that the victim's injuries were indicative of homicidal violence.
