Brooksville police recover $55,000 in stolen goods

Brooksville, Florida -- Police arrested a local man Tuesday and recovered some $55,000 in goods taken in recent burglaries.

Abel Lahera Basulto was charged with burglary, grand theft and dealing in stolen property. Other charges are pending.

Police said they recovered stolen lawnmowers and tractors in the Miami area along with some $15,000 worth of lawn equipment Basulto allegedly sold.

A search warrant on his residence led police to another $30,000-$40,000 in stolen property, including plasma TVs, air conditioners and various lawn equipment.

Basulto was taken to the Hernando County jail and held on $100,000 bond.

Police said two accomplices are being sought.
