Teenage thieves post pictures of stolen items on MySpace

Apollo Beach, Florida – Seven people have been arrested and detectives say they have recovered firearms and thousands of dollars in stolen jewelry, laptops and televisions. Some of the suspects posed for pictures with the stolen property and then posted them on MySpace.

Hillsborough detectives had been investigating a residential burglary in the Apollo Beach area when they found out that some of the suspects were posing for pictures with stolen property and then displaying it on their MySpace web page.

On Tuesday, detectives conducted a court authorized search warrant at a residence on Clair Shore Drive in Apollo Beach in reference to a burglary that occurred in the area.

Information was developed that other suspects were involved, at which time detectives set up a buy and bust operation to buy some of the stolen property from the suspects.

Deputies say that when they met with the suspects, they found out that the suspects were in possession of stolen property from another burglary that had just occurred and had not been discovered by the homeowners yet. As information developed, it was determined that some of the at large suspects were in possession of stolen firearms.

A second undercover operation was set up, at which time several subjects arrived at a location within the Summerfield Subdivision. Detectives and deputies stopped the two vehicles, at which time three firearms were recovered out of the vehicle, on of which was listed as stolen out of Brevard County.

One of the suspects from the unreported burglary was in one of the vehicles and was believed to be in possession of the stolen property.

During the investigation, it was determined that suspect, Ryan Taylor was recently released from jail and had a GPS monitoring system affixed to his ankle as a condition of his bond release. Taylor initially denied being involved in the burglary. Detailed report from his GPS Tracker showed him directly in front of the burglary victim's residence.

As a result of this investigation, three firearms were recovered, $4,800 worth of stolen property was recovered ranging from jewelry, and laptops, and televisions. Seven individuals were arrested and charged with the above charges.
