"Habitual traffic offender" causes fatal crash

Tampa, Florida — Police say a motorcyclist was killed Wednesday night by a habitual traffic offender who was driving without a license.

David William Winters, 54, of North Edison Street was westbound on West Waters Avenue on his Harley Davidson motorcycle when an eastbound Mercedes pulled in front of him to turn onto Ola Avenue.

Winters struck the car head-on. He was dead at the scene.

The driver of the Mercedes was identified as Juan Agosto, 53, of Black Pine Drive, Tampa. Police charged Agosto with driving while license suspended involving death, and Violation of Right-Of-Way.

Police are calling Agosto a Habitual Traffic Offender.
