Dunedin man killed in Palm Harbor crash

A 26-year-old Dunedin man was killed in a crash Wednesday afternoon in Palm Harbor, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The FHP says at 2:42 p.m. the man was driving a 2006 Jeep northbound on U.S. Alt. 19 just south of Jeter Street when he veered across the center line and struck a Ford pickup, being driven southbound by James Boles, 28, of Largo, head on.

The Dunedin man was transported to Mease Countryside Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the truck and two passengers were transported to Bayfront Hospital and are all listed in serious condition. The truck was hauling a trailer used by a landscaping business.

The crash closed both directions of Alt. 19 for several hours.

The name of the fatality is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The FHP’s investigation is continuing.
