Brooksville, Florida - A small number of North American bison are being raised on a 53-acre ranch in Brooksville. Owner Lauralee Conklin says the Dancing Buffalo Ranch is a gift and a life-long dream come true.
"We wake up in the morning, step out our front porch and the bison are grazing or frolicking in sunlight," says ranch owner Lauralee Conklin. "They do dance, and it's a blast to see horses and bison... talking with the animals. It's a whole other paradise."
The Dancing Buffalo Ranch is located in Brooksville at 18250 Wiscon Road. The phone number is 352-799-0859.
A grand opening festival is scheduled for Saturday, July 14 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
They will also be celebrating their newest addition to the ranch. Red Moon, a baby female buffalo, was born May 10. Click here to see a slideshow of Red Moon and other buffalo.
