Fire crews battle two-alarm fire at condo complex

Tampa, Florida -- Hillsborough County Fire Rescue units battled a two-alarm fire at the Whisper Lake Condos on South Lake Drive late Tuesday night.

Hillsborough County Fire Rescue received many calls regarding heavy flames and smoke coming from the building. When units arrived they found the building engulfed inflames.

Multiple residents were already evacuated and crews began to attack the fire and called for a second alarm due to the size of the fire.

A teenage girl was treated and transported by paramedics to a local hospital in critical condition. It took fire rescue crews about 25 minutes to extinguished the blazed.

A total of six apartment units sustained severe fire, smoke and water damage and twelve people were displaced. There were no other reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
