Tampa, Florida — Florida's First Lady made a stop in Tampa Bay to learn more about a facility designed to help women.
Ann Scott received a warm welcome from the Centre for Women in South Tampa Wednesday morning.
The non-profit centre offers counseling, substance abuse treatment and job training to help women in need get back on their feet. The first lady took a tour to learn more about the facilities and how it's changing lives.
"These women are possibly going through divorce or recently widowed or struggling to get back to life, normal life as we know it," said Scott. "It's nice to know that we have these resources available to help them do that."
The Centre for women operates 3 other sites: a centre for girls, a senior home improvement program in Tampa and a counseling centre in Brandon.
