BOYNTON BEACH, Florida (CBS12) -- When Dustin Richter, Nick Kirk, Reed Guerin and Raymon Brooks went fishing off the Boynton Inlet on Sunday night, they never thought they'd pull in the catch of a lifetime.
At around 2 a.m. and after a two hour fight, Dustin pulled in a huge sawfish which he estimates weighed about 500 pounds.
After getting the fish close to shore, Dustin and friends measured the amazing catch, which came out to a whopping 11 feet long!
Sawfishes are a critically endangered species, and after taking a celebratory photo of their catch, the fishermen released the animal back into the ocean.
