Grande Gala grand for the community

Grande Gala helps community in a grand way

With a Roaring Twenties theme, organizers of the RCS Grande Gala for Flappers and Fellas guarantee a roaring good time. "It's going to be so much fun," says event chair Devin Pappas. "We're going to have Charleston dancers and dance lessons. We're going to have entertainment by Fred Johnson and Dick Rumore's Orchestra, live auction, silent auction and raffles."

The gala takes place on October 10th at Banquet Masters, 13355 49th Street N., Clearwater. 10 News Meteorologist Ashley Batey is co-hosting with Ernest Hooper from the Tampa Bay Times.

The event is a fundraiser for RCS, a group that provides services to the homeless and low-income families in Pinellas. RCS runs a foodbank, domestic violence shelter, and a thrift store.

"RCS has been around since 1967 serving people in Pinellas County," explains RCS President Caitlin Higgins Joy. "Our mission is to provide help and hope to those facing hunger, homelessness, and domestic violence."
