Hillsborough jail deputy charged in road rage

Seffner, Florida -- A Hillsborough County detention deputy is facing a change after he drew his weapon Tuesday during a road rage incident in Seffner.

Reginald J. Migues, 54, faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He has been released on $2,000 bond.

According to detectives, about 10:30 a.m. Migues and another man had an argument during a road rage incident along Williams Road and U.S. Highway 92 in Seffner.

Both men pulled their vehicles into a parking lot at 5520 Carmack Road, and Migues exited his vehicle and walked toward the other man who was getting out of his vehicle, according to the sheriff's office.

Migues pulled out his personal Glock 40-caliber handgun, chambered a round and pointed the gun at the man putting him in fear of his life. Langley got back into his vehicle and called 911.

Migues went back to his vehicle and the confrontation ended with no injuries.

Later, Migues admitted possessing the loaded firearm and chambering a round as he approached the other man, the sheriff's office said.

Migues has been a detention deputy in Hillsborough or 11 years and was assigned to the Falkenburg Road Jail. He has been suspended without pay.
