Disabled student wins van, but can't pay taxes

Riverview, Florida -- Antonio Dowels is winning! Literally. The University of Florida graduate was recently presented with a specially-equipped van that he won in a contest.

Antonio's beaming smile tells the story of his gratitude, because until now, life has thrown him some curve balls, and it touches his heart that complete strangers wanted to help.

"I just see myself as a normal person and it's gratifying and inspiring that people are helping me," said Dowels.

Antonio was in a serious car accident in high school, but he pushed on and graduated from college. Now, he's been accepted to law school, but there's one little catch. He can't afford the $3,000 in taxes on the $50,000 van, and losing it is unthinkable.

"It would be devastating. Like I said, I had all this hard work and putting in all these long hours, finally getting it, and then not being able to raise that money, not being able to pay for it," said Dowels.

And as we've seen, nothing stops Antonio. He's asking for donations on GiveForward.com, so he can keep his dream of being a lawyer alive, and send a message to anyone fighting a battle.

"They might not have a disability but everyone has obstacles, and if I can do it, they can do it as well."
