Tampa, Florida - Dorms, classrooms and parking lots are all things that fell victim to Mother Nature Friday at the University South Florida in Tampa. Water not only affecting the parking lots, but flooding buildings.
"It was like, gushing in," says one worker who was trying to clean up the mess.
In the communications building at USF, there was plenty to talk about. Water came flowing in, making its way through many buildings on campus.
"I was inside the dining hall and it came flooding in," says student Mohammad Hoque. The building's basement had flooding a few inches high and water also made its way onto brand new floors in one room.
"We're going to put sand bags here," says one worker.
"I was sleeping, woke up noticed it was coming in," says Sophomore Henry Hernandez, who says his dorm room became a small pool. "It was seeping through the floor."
It's all evidence of the wrath Mother Nature can do in a short amount of time. Now cleaning crews are already cleaning up the mess, and they hope this is all dried up soon.
Friday also happens to be graduation day for students at USF. We are told things have gone smoothly so far, and there have been no reported problems.
